The verdict
The JP374 is not simply a higher-priced JP274. It moves into John Packer’s professional range with an 80:20 brass bell section and a Sterling-design leadpipe; the JP374T adds a main tuning-slide trigger for players who actively manage pitch while performing.
The Sterling connection is a design and branding cue, not proof of where the current instrument is built. Compare it with the standalone Sterling Virtuoso, and ask the dealer for a direct country-of-manufacture answer. The missing published bore figure is another reason to judge the horn by response and ergonomics rather than by assuming its internal dimensions from a less expensive JP model.
