The verdict
Miraphone removes the naming ambiguity itself: the M5000 is the same instrument as the 1258A. Both identify a 443 Hz, fully compensating euphonium with a 290 mm bell and a conical 15.5-to-16.2 mm valve-section bore. Moving the third-valve slide closer to the body improves access to the left-hand fourth valve, particularly for smaller hands.
The M5050 Ambassador shares the bore progression but adds a 310 mm bell, main-slide trigger, heavier receiver, and more weight. The M5000 is the cleaner choice when compact dimensions and 4.45 kg handling matter more than the flagship’s extra tuning control and projection-focused hardware.
