The verdict
The EP 902 is a budget instrument with a decidedly non-budget valve concept: 3+1 ergonomics, a full compensating system, and the same 15.0-to-16.8 mm bore range seen on far more expensive euphoniums. The 300 mm bell and 4.66 kg weight make it the lighter base of Thomann’s Superior family.
The trade is certainty and refinement, not missing low-register tubing. The actual OEM is still under review, and a direct-sale house-brand instrument deserves inspection and setup planning. The EP 904 adds a trigger and gold trim; the EP 906 moves to a larger, heavier platform.
