Willson presents the 2960TA Celebration as an alternative to its 2950TA, not as the next rung above it. The two share the same published 15.0-to-16.8 mm stepped bore, 310 mm bell diameter, 4.5 kg weight, and full compensating system. The 2960’s distinction lies in the details around that platform: a specially produced bell edge, heavy bottom caps, and an emphasis on smoother overtones and a broader, more effortless sound.
That makes the 2960TA a play-test decision. Its published specifications cannot tell you whether the Celebration hardware gives your sound more useful breadth or simply more mass in the hands.
