Austin Custom Brass

A Kansas City brass specialist whose China-made Doubler's euphonium is built to ACB specifications, then optimized and play-tested at its shop.

Headquarters: United States — Austin Custom Brass (ACB) — direct-sale and instrument-setup shop in Kansas City, Missouri.

Austin Custom Brass is a Kansas City brass retailer, workshop, and house-brand seller. Its Doubler’s line is contract-built in China to ACB specifications. ACB then optimizes and play-tests the instruments at its Kansas City shop before shipment, making the seller’s preparation part of the product rather than a separate after-sale service.

The current euphonium is a full 3+1 compensating instrument with a .580-inch bore and 12-inch bell. Its practical comparison with the Yamaha YEP-321 is revealing: the ACB adds compensation and left-hand fourth-valve ergonomics, while the Yamaha offers a long-established non-compensating platform with four inline valves.

ACB’s own country-of-origin guidance places the Doubler line in China, but it does not name the current contract factory. This catalogue therefore leaves the OEM field blank instead of repeating the reported Ovis attribution. The documented claim is the useful one for buyers: contracted Chinese manufacture followed by ACB setup and play-testing in Kansas City.
