Capuzzi’s paired movements come from a double-bass concerto and have become standard low-brass teaching repertoire. The Andante invites a sustained Classical line without Romantic heaviness; the Rondo answers with clean articulation and light-footed motion.
The range is manageable for an intermediate player, but style makes the piece more than an easy note-learning exercise. Cadences need direction, repeated material needs freshness, and the fast movement must remain buoyant rather than thick.
