Waltz for E. turns elementary material into a real question of style. The notes are not the point: the player has to make the first beat lead, keep the lighter beats from becoming heavy, and shape a line over the bar line.
It appears in Shining Brass, Book 1 and on ABRSM Grade 1 for baritone and euphonium. The concise form and separate piano accompaniment make it a useful first recital item, especially for a player who needs an alternative to another slow melody.
